2. i haven't noticed the bathroom trips, but i drink a good amount of water so i'm always running to the b.r. anyway. but i'm gonna take note. i wonder if its the carbs/dehyd thing or if its just that you're drinking more on the fast days to make up for the lack of food (fill your tum, etc). Are you drinking more coffee/caff that will def. dehydrate you some.

3. Regarding your vitamins...i was told by my former trainer that if a vitamin makes you nausceous that it doesn't agree with your body. One-a-days ALWAYS make me sick to the point where my mouth waters, i feel like i'm going to vomit etc if I take them on an empty stomach. I LOVE "Animal Paks" by Universal.

nope, i'm not drinking extra fluids or extra caffeine. i usually run to the bathroom all the time too, but i noticed extra trips on fast days.

re the vitamins: i take multi vits from Life Extension and i'm normally ok...except on fast days. maybe i'll give the Animal Paks a shot.

happy fasting...i was thinking of trying a 2-3 day fast this weekend. at least that was my rationale for not fasting as usual this past monday.

Hey Clem! Just wanted to stop in your journal & say Hi! :D

Hope your fast went well. I can totally see how hard it would be to get back in the swing of things after a break.

Hope you have a great day & weekend!!!

HI Ladies, thanks for stopping in.

whoa today is a fast day and i swear i am the energizer bunny today. i don't know what my deal is but i've been zipping around the office, cracking jokes (not good when i do that w/ a new boss..whoops) and constantly moving. i am not a bit hungry. well, easier to get back in the swing than i thought. i might stop and hour or so early b/c its my little sister's bday. sweet 16, actually. :-)

good luck w/ your fasts this week ladies.

OLDGRRL...u don't do 3 fast days in a row do u???? WHOA. i don't think i could!!! i'd be a GROUCH...and thats putting it VERY NICELY!!!

well, yeah. that was the plan. a straight 48-72 hour fast. i think i made it thru the 2nd day before i gave in to hunger. i can't remember for sure. it seems like so long ago.

then i had family in town and fasting went out the window. i've been dealing with some vertigo the past 2 weeks and haven't done much of anything including fasting.

i dread the that first fast after not fasting for awhile. maybe next week. i just have to do it and get back into the routine.

Hey girl!! yeah, i hear ya, the first fast after a break is dreaded, but you'll get through it and be back in the swing in no time.

its been a crazy summer for me. i got back from cancun last week SEVEN pounds up on the scale. only fasted once this week so far...wahh. dropped 2 of the seven, have 5 more to go. Gotta get back in the swing. I feel like a bloated, watery MESS!!!!

We can do it together!!! Just gotta put our minds to it, not think about it, and just do it.

Hi There, Barby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How are you? My apologies for not responding sooner, life as usual, is hectic!!! I'm honored that you read my journal all the way through. I stopped writing as often b/c I thought there was a lack of interest.

Things were progressing nicely until last week. Not through fault of ESE, through my personal scheduling problems. Let me explain: 2 wks ago, I ran into my boxing coach from about 5 years ago. We had lost touch when i started to compete in fitness and winds up both of us were trying to get back in touch w/ each other for a while. I started training w/ him immediately. I'm loving all of HIIT that comes along w/ rounds of boxing. He begs me everyday to fight b/c i'm such a tough/strong girl...but I tell him daily the same thing i told him 5 yrs ago....i'm a tough girl who likes my manicures, i hit bags and mits that don't hit my pretty face back!! :D I'm working w/ him 5-6 days/week so i haven't quite figured out how to fit my fasting around these extremely intense boxing sessions. And have been so hungry from the extra cardio involved, I haven't really bothered to try. Tonight is going to be my first attempt. I'll eat my last meal at 5, train at 530, then fast till dinner tomorrow at 5 before training at 5:30 again. we'll see if this works as far as my stamina and strength in the ring! Mind over matter, I'm sure!

I'll keep you posted.

As far as you, have u given fasting a shot yet? what do u think?

btw, barby....i dropped the cancun bloat and am back at my 135 i have been maintaining at for a long time. i told my boxing coach i want him to beat me until i'm back down t0 120. all its going to take is for me to clean up the eats on the non fasting days and w the intensity of the boxing...he thinks i can be close to that by xmas!! WE'LL SEEE!!!!!

I am actually going to try this tonight. I have been out of work for a few months and didn't dare try due to being around the refrigerator and cupboards all day. I start back to work tonight, and am going for it. To be truthful I have not gotten the book yet  , due to my financial situation at the moment (disability stinks), but have read a lot about it and plus the emails I get from Brad on the subject, I think I get the jist of it. Any help until I get back on my feet would be appreciated, :) . Anyway's thanks for your response, Clem, your example is inspiring. Talk to you later, then.

hey barby,

glad to help. lmk if i can assist you in any way. soo i'm dying to know...how did it go??????????

i didnt fast again, have my annual asthmatic bronchitis (inevitable every fall) and i felt too weak, ate chicken soup at lunch. Will try again fresh next week. my boxing coach is being hard on me about fasting. doesn't quite get the concept. he wants me to go my first 4 weeks w. out fasting. for recovery purposes he says. he just isn't grasping the concept. :?

My first fast!

Postby barby130 on Sat Oct 11, 2008 1:05 am

Hi Clem,
Sorry your not well. Being sick is not fun. I am not really sick right now, but I have been off of work because of a bad case of vertigo (an inner ear imbalance). I have been two months trying to get my head together and am still not quite there. Anyways, I returned to work this week, and other than I am still a little dizzy, things are right again. Dieting, along with exercising has been hard with this condition, so I thought maybe the ESE plan might work. By the way, the fasting went real well. What makes it easily fit into my life, is I work third shift. I can work all night, come home and go to bed, and when I get up I only have to avoid food for a couple of more hours. I fasted from 6:00pm to 6:00pm. It wasn't as difficult as I imagined. If I am doing it right I just drank water and some unsweetened green tea during my fast. When I did feel hungry, I drank and it seemed to help. I really think this could work for me.

Well, I hope you get better. Thanks for your support. You being a maverick I am sure you have lots of great advice to give. I will accept any and all, :D . Talk to later.

hi girl!! so glad to hear it went well for you!! i find the same, if i fast during work hours or when i'm distracted/busy it seems effortless. usually until about 22 hrs. then i struggle for 2 and i'm golden. 6-6 is my easiest time as well. any later, i tend to SHOP to avoid eating and that can be disastrous...HAHAHAHAAH, ONLY ME!!!!

still not allowed to train although i am BEGGING my coach at least to let me do a light work out, nothing strenuous just staying with it b/c i'm finally back in the swing and i dont' wanna lose it. he said to come watch practice but not allowed to participate, depending how i feel MAYBE a light speedbag work out. WAH, these legs want to run!! :-( butttt i keep telling myself rather be out a couple more days than reaggravate my lung and be out for an extended period.

keep me posted, love to hear how its going!!!

Hello Clem

Postby barby130 on Fri Oct 17, 2008 10:14 pm

Hi Clem! I am sorry it has taken me so to get back to you. Now that I am back to work my schedule is a lot busier. I imagine that by this time you are feeling much better and back to your workouts. I enjoy my workouts myself. I feel so much better after working out. I am doing Turbulence Training, and like it alot. Well, I finished my third fast this last Wed. For some reason this one was very difficult. I was consistently hungry the entire time. I kept an attitude of "sticktuitiveness" though, and made it,. Believe me my supper that night never tasted so good. :D :D :D , ...and I was good and didn't binge. I do wish I could see more results. I feel thinner and when I look in the mirror, I think I look thinner, but the scales don't seem to budge down very much . I guess I am being pretty impatient, but I wouldn't mind seeing concrete results. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Chat with you later.
