Fully developed gluteals

Postby brachiomorph44 on Mon Apr 20, 2009 6:17 am

Can anyone here help me? I've been told to do side lying rotations ( a la Pilates ) and standing cable abductions before going into my main glute exercises in order to warm up the area. Is this really necessary? What exactly will this do for my butt? Don't these exercises work the hips!? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have an injury that you need to warm up these areas? Otherwise I think you could do your main exercises with lighter weights as a warm up. Adductions work the inner thighs, lower glute fibers amd hamstrings. Abductions work the outer hips.
