Interesting side effects

Postby stephfour on Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:49 pm

One interesting side effect that I've noticed is how much time I spend thinking about food or preparing food, even when I'm eating clean and healthy. During my fast days, I noticed that there were times I wanted to eat something, but I wasn't actually hungry. I'm sure this happening all the time. Aside from the obvious insight into my personal quirks, :D I felt empowered. Actually doing some fast days made me realize that I don't need to eat as much as my eyes or head seem to think I need.

Hey Brad
I just read Eat Stop Eat this morning for the 3rd time. Yes, it really takes that much to decondition me. I have been a personal trainer & very interested in nutrition. I read between 2-4 fat loss & nutrition books a month.
I thank you so much for writing this. I no longer have the need to read the latest & greatest diet & nutrition book. Sure, nutrition is important (eat lots of vegies & fruit), but really weight loss is as simple as you have stated in your book.
I have been 2 fasts/week for the last 3 weeks & find it does get easier. For me, it has been breaking myself of addictions to food & needing to eat.
I have lost 3 1/2 pounds at this point & generally feel very good during my fast. Workouts are awsome too. I do use Turbulence Training as well as design my own workouts.
I will continue reading other people experience with this, as I find it so interesting how people's eyes are being opened after being mislead for so long.
Thank You Again
Denise

Hi Denise,

I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I've had similar experiences to yours. It used to be a priority for me to read every nutrition book that I could get my hands on.

Not anymore.

I remember once commenting to my friend John Barban that Eat Stop Eat has taken the fun out of weight loss. There's no more diet-magic, or super "out there" theories to discuss. No trying the latest greatest diet. Non of these old habits are needed anymore matters anymore.

You simply fast once or twice a weak, and you lose weight! It so simple.

Glad your enjoying fasting!
