I did Beginner #2 today and it went surprisingly well. I had considerably more energy than a couple weeks ago when I did Circuit #1, but that's because I've been steadly increasing my calories. Or, maybe I'm just gettin' in better shape!

Anyway, once again I was conservative on the weights, probably too much so. I increased some by 5 lbs from Circuit #1 and could probably have gone up another 5 and still done well. It's a bit tricky finding just the right weight.

This workout was pretty leg-intensive for me. The upper body exercises could have been a bit more challenging, but I'll get it. I also found I felt ready to go at it again by around the 3-minute mark on the long rests, a definite improvement from the last one, though this still whooped my butt. It took around 50 minutes or so.

I'm likin' these!!!

Victoria, if you feel ready sooner than 4 minute by all means you can get onto the next circuit sooner...maybe a 2-3 min rest for the first, then graduating up to the 4 mins as you get further into the workout...

Some of the circuits are definately a bit more leg intensive, I guess it is a matter of how heavy you choose to go with your dumbbells...I personally use close to 80-85% of the weight I would have used for any standard upper body dumbbell exercise...so for me the upper body stuff is plenty heavy enough.

That is how these circuits were designed...once you graduate up to higher dumbbells it think you'll notice more even intensity and work from your upper to lower body throughout the circuits.

Can't wait to hear your feedback once you're doing the advanced circuits!
