Machines

Postby Kiwi on Mon Aug 13, 2007 1:39 am

I am doing the 6 min circuits. Could you give me some ideas of some machines to use for some of the different exercises. The reason is that the gym I belong to has all the bells and whistles and I would like to utilise them more. I have considered working out at home, but feel that it would be so much easier to get distracted and not do it. Or alternatively do you have another workout based around machines and dumbells. Thanks!

Hi Kiwi,

You can definately sub in machines if you like for some of the things in the workout.

Bench press machines instead of dumbbell presses

Shoulder press machine instead of dumbbell shoulder press

Anything or arms (biceps and triceps) you can use machines, cable machines are good for this.

Also for back exercises like one arm rows, you can sub in pulldowns.

If there are any specific exercises you want to incorporate I can guide you on where they would best be substituted in.

I would recommend keeping things like push ups, and all the squatting and lunging and jumping in...there is just no machine that can match these exercises!
