pushing on

workout #2 of beginner section. I did say I was looking forward to muscle soreness - it's here  . I can barely walk normal today - that means I'm making progess, right? I forgot yesterday to thank you (John and Brad) for assisting me through the technical difficulty in obtaing the 6 Minute Circuits Workout book. I will post again Monday - maybe I'll have worked through some of the soreness by then.

Hi Carolyn,

The soreness will go away once you get used to the program...as you might have noticed there are a bunch of different exercises throughout all the different circuits...you might get some different 'sore' days when you hit the new exercises in each circuit.

Keep me posted as you move through the program. The feedback is much appreciated.

Continuing On

Postby carolyn on Thu Aug 16, 2007 7:36 pm

I meant THANK YOU, John and Brad, for e-mailing the work out book to me - when I purchased it I was unable to access for download. I am almost through the Beginner set of circuits for the second time (8 workouts)- I took Sunday off. I feel almost no soreness now - I can walk normally! I am able to do each of the exercises with much more confidence and stability than in the beginning. I am using eight pound dumbells and wonder at what point to increase the weight. I am winded at the end of each circuit but could do more. As I am feeling confident with the work outs - I will continue them, the four-day per week; and add at least two 30 minute sessions of cardio. I have some big long-term goals for personal fitness. My problem is wanting immediate gratification - to see  results. Send patience vibes to me. And in the mean time, I'll have to check out Brad's new book - Eat Stop Eat. That is my bigger challenge right now. Have a good week! :)

Carolyn,

Mixing it up with a bit of cardio is good...go up in weights once you got it down...I included more higher intensity exercises in the intermediate and advanced circuits (and you will noticed there is an extra exercise in the mini circuits in the advanced) so those should present a new challenge.

Brad's book is nuts! I've been doing this program for almost a year now and it kicks butt. We both kinda kick ourselves for taking this long to realize this, and its almost embarassingly simple to lose weight. You'll see once you read the book.
